This deciduous, perennial relative of the native raspberry originates from the arctic regions of Europe and Asia, but thrives in Central Europe as well. An ideal location for 'Tarja' ground cover is sunny to partially shaded, with humus rich, slightly acidic soil that is not too dry. It also does well as underplanting in a bog garden.
