The hoof spoon, formerly also called a "peerdevoetenlepel", was most likely made in Friesland around 1660. Probably outside the city, as it is not hallmarked. The spoon features a rattail joint between the handle and the bowl, characteristic of that period. The spoon was once gilded, but this has worn off over time.
