The terroir here largely determines the wine's flavor, not so much the grapes themselves. Engelgarten has a gravel soil and, thanks to its favorable location, produces very ripe grapes. It is a dry, slightly oily wine with a wonderfully fruity bouquet. It has a warm mouthfeel and plenty of minerality. The high quality Engelgarten vineyard The
