Verónica Arán Ponte

Dr. Verónica Aran Ponte is a researcher with a solid background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Dundee in Scotland and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Glasgow. She has dedicated more than a decade to cancer research, including postdocs at the University of Liverpool and the National Cancer Institute (INCA) in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, she has contributed as a professor and researcher at the Jamil Haddad National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (INTO). Since 2020, she works as a researcher at the Paulo Niemeyer State Hospital and Brain Institute in Rio de Janeiro, where she leads the implementation of a liquid biopsy platform to investigate biomarkers in the blood of patients with brain tumors and coordinates the institute’s research ethics committee. She is a founding member and president of the first Association of Spanish Scientists in Brazil (Acebra).
