Immunopathophysiologist focused on the study of inflammatory bowel disease, with an emphasis on moderate forms of the disease, specifically microscopic colitis. Since April 2025, she has been based at the Institute of Biomedicine and Molecular Genetics (University of Valladolid–CSIC) with a contract from the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO), following eight years of postdoctoral positions at Linköping University (Linköping, Sweden) and the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (Kiel, Germany). Since 2021, she has supported the Society of Spanish Scientists in the Federal Republic of Germany (CERFA), organizing events and later serving as coordinator with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECyT) and as CERFA’s delegate in RAICEX, where she has participated in the Science Policy and Diplomacy Commission. She is currently Secretary of RAICEX and actively involved in other scientific societies, serving as the coordinator of basic researchers for the Spanish Working Group on Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis (GETECCU-BAS) and as coordinator of the biobank network for the European Microscopic Colitis Group (EMCG).
